Philip Sparkle: At The Gay Bathhouse
7:00 PM Doors // 7:30 PM Show
Welcome to AT THE GAY BATHHOUSE, queer wizard Philip Sparkle's debut album of 16 original gay comedy songs. Calling to mind a deranged yet homosexual Bo Burnham, Philip invites the audience into seedy and strange worlds told through the queerest art form of all: music. Come learn what's inside actual bathhouses from Chicago to Berlin, roast The Instagays posing outside Holocaust Memorials, and discover how expensive chicken fingers are in Iceland for the gay traveller on a budget. The songs range in style from Euro-trash techno (“Danke and Bitte”) to smooth jazz (“Nordic Hell”) to punk-rock (“The Bro & The Gay”) to disco ("Gold Star Gay") to Broadway showstoppers (“Live Epic”) to the RuPaul inspired rap song “I Don’t Like Paper,” that was turned into a musical video, directed by Julie Rega. AT THE GAY BATHHOUSE debuted at Joe's Pub last Summer and has charted in Spotify's comedy New Releases section ever since. Stream the album wherever you get your music, then leave your cynicism at the door come see Philip and the Sparkle band AT THE GAY BATHHOUSE at Club Cumming!

"In a comedy scene oversaturated with irony and cynicism, improv master Philip Markle invites you to indulge in blissful inanity at this absolutely batshit variety hour, featuring life-affirming wisdom from Markle, visceral humor from a crazed coterie of avant-garde performers and spectacular dance breaks." - Time Out New York
